[Afternoon Session.]

Mr. Morris introduced the following resolution:

"WHEREAS, David Jenkins, Esq., of Columbus, is convinced that the Constitution of the United States is imperfect and inconsistent with the Christian character of the American people in not recognizing the Divine Ruler of the Universe therein; and,

"WHEREAS, Said David Jenkins is desirous of presenting his views upon the propriety of so amending the Constitution to this honorable body; therefore,

"Resolved, By the Senate, that the use of the Senate Chamber be tendered to Mr. Jenkins upon to-morrow, March 3, at 3 o'clock P.M., for the purpose above mentioned."

Mr. Brinsmade moved to lay the resolution on the table. Carried - yeas 14, nays 10 - a party vote except Howard, Republican, voting with the Democrats against the laying on the table.

Mr. Young moved to adjourn. Agreed to, and the Senate adjourned until Monday.
