Students disagree on President's assassin

President John F. Kennedy's assassination. which took place 11 years -ago,
has received much publicity recently
from three network television shows.
These shows have questioned the Warren
Commission's findings that Lee Harvey
Oswald acted alone and was not involved
in a conspiracy.
A.nril :3. a sidewalk survey was taken
in fI:ont of the Union giving students a
chance to express their opinions on
President Kennedv's assassination.
Jimm) Greak:
"I believe the
Executive Department was all behind it.
If they ever dig into it, Lyndon Johnson
was the one that really had him killed
and Lee Harvey Oswald was just a
scapegoat and just somebo_dy that was
set un. He had nothing to do with i.t at all.
L~rry Waters: "I saw the movie
Executi\"e Action and that raised a lot of
questions in my mind. I believe that
there was a conspiracy behind it to a
certain extent. I don't know how many
neonle were involved, but I don't believe
he ~ould have done it by himself. A lot of
evidence was circumstatial against him
because he was in the warehouse at the
time. It wouldn't surprise me if the CIA
was involved in it because there's been
something about their plots and
overthrowing different people and
governments in the last few months
that's beginning to come to surface.
Paigt• Hailey: "Oswald did it. He did
it by himself. He was emotionally
unstable. He had lived in Russia before
and didn't like it there and came back to
Ameri<.:a. He was involved in "Fair play
for Cuba . " It just happened that
Kennedy's route went past the Texas
Uepos1tory. Oswald had tr1ea to
assassinate other people before, but
failed . He tried to assassinate Nixon.
Some people have said you can't fire a
rifle that fast. but I know you can."
:\la rilyn Se alls: "Well, I don't think
that he would really undertake something
like that by hirnself. I'm sure there was
somebody else involved. With somebody
that big he would really have to be out of
his mind to do it on his own. I'm sure

Mike Wilson: "I h.eard somebody
speak on the assassination here and
actually I don't think Oswald did it alone.
I think it was a conspiracy, a political
assassination.
Jerry Johnson: "i think that there
could have been other people behind him.
I don't think just one man did it by
himself. Like when Jack Ruby came into
the picture I thought there was
something to that. I don't think one man
could have plotted as easily as he did it.
Somebody put him up to it.
Wilson
but I know the~ have connected people
inv~lved in Watergate with the Cuban
Missie Crisis and with the assassination
remotely.
