Hatred Killed By Innocent Few
The death of hatred is something
that all of us should remember,
but not mourn. It was the most
dreadful evil that crept upon the
face of the earth in time of despair. Hatred advocated unrelentlessly against the harmonious
fellowship that humans once displayed. Hatred tried to destroy
homes, turn neighbors against
neighbors, and finally whites against blacks.
Because of the latter encounter,
Hatred was captured by time,
tried by the Jury of the Innocent- the meek and humble few--and
was found guilty as charged. It
was sentenced by the Judge Justice to be shot by four executioners. The executioners assembled
to carry out the sentence.
First executioner Medger Evers tried in spite of the frustrations and difficulties of the moment, to unify the human society
by exemplifying human love. He
often came face-to-face with Hatred, although he was not afraid
of it. This time he stood to whip
its life away by squeezing the
trigger of Hope. He aimed very
slowly at the most vital organ of
Hatred's body, the O r g a n of
Pride, but Evers missedandshot
its Organ of Consciousness making it stagger temporarily.
Second executioner John Keunedy said, "Ask not \\that your

country can do for you, but ask
what you can do yor your country," and believed in giving all
persons a chance to advance to a
reasonable status of livelihood.
He slowly pulled the trigger of
Respect and shot Hatred in its Organ of Pride. Hatred trembled
and the chill of death was viewed
by the people.
Third executioner Dr. Martin
Luther King quickly stepped forward to put Hatred out of its suffering. Dr. King was a man with
a dream to love somebody. He
said, '' If a man has not found
something he is willing to die for,
he is not fit to live.'' Yes, he was
a man with a dream--a dream of
brotherly love so that one day little black children could walk down
the street hand-in-hand with little
white children without the fear of
Hatred. He was honored to place
the third bullet, the Bullet of Conviction, into Hatred's Organ of
Pride. As Dr. King aimed, the
mass of people watching knew it
would soon be over for Hatred.
With a loud roar, the Bullet of
Conviction scissored through the
air and rested in Hatred's Organ
0 1 Pride with Kennedy's Bullet ot
Respect.
Hatred fell to its knees and toppled to the ground from whence it
came. King shouted, "Free at
la.st, free at last -- Thank God

Almighty, I'm free at last." ~ut
the crowd was not satisfied w1th
just three bullets in Hatred's bodY
of Destruction, and chanted for a
fourth executioner.
Finally the fourth executioner,
senator Robert Kennedy--a shy
young man with the makings of a
president, pleaded with the crowd
asking them--What more couldhe
do? But the crowd insisted that he
shoot Hatred again to make sure
the shots of his brother a nd or.
King were not in vain. Slowlybut
surely Robert pulled the trigger
of his shyness and hit Hatred in
its framework with the Bullet of
Togetherness.
The passing of Hat red was
mourned by a naive few whorltd
not know any better, by racketeers who used Hatred's victims
to get ahead in life, and bylbos:
who cried '' white supremacy
