Change Takes Time
TO THE EDITOR:
After reading all that criticism
about our fine university, I can't
help but feel that the young people_ of today are demanding too
much, too soon. Don't these young
folks realize that it takes time
for change and that only time will
bring about the truly needed
changes? Critical letters to ·the
editor, open discussions, and
perverted views as presented in
last year's REFLECTOR and
REVTi'ILLE do nothing but inflame the great people of Mississippi and make collegiate funding more difficult. Demanding
ridiculous and oft-times r evolting nonsense like the right to
privacy, female and black equality, freedom of speech, and
freedom of press can only be
injurious to the more pressing
needs as adequate parkmg, the
funding of the new coliseum, and
legalized liquor. So PLEASE
students; forget about all that
liberal-oriented trivia return to
the good times of frat:rnity parties, beer brusts, dating, and
football games, and remember
that time is responsible for all
~he Progress Mississippi has enJoyed to this day. I leave you
with these words from a great
~ississippian and a great American:

Sigma Omicron Tau
TO THE EDITOR:
As members of Sigma Omicron Tau, we believe there
has been a slight error in the
headline of your arti«:' ie concerning our organization. As we are
a non-discriminatory organization with membership open to all
races, creeds and sexes, we cannot possibly be labled a fraternity. We consider ourselves a
social club, a social alternative
for students not affiliated with
the Greek system, or a social
additive for those who are.
It is important that this be
noted since we are having our
first party after the Homecoming
game this weekend and we would
like to afford interested students
the opportunity to find out more
about the organization. It is
therefore understood why we
wanted this clarification made.
