"Maus: A Survivor's Tale" by Art Spiegelman (1986, 1991)

Dublin Core

Description

This is the cover of *Maus: A Survivor’s Tale*, a graphic novel by Art Spiegelman that tells the true story of a Holocaust survivor—his father—through powerful, symbolic art.

At the top, the title “MAUS” is written in bold, harsh, red letters.

At the center is a symbol: a large black swastika, the emblem of Nazi Germany. In its center is the face of a cat, drawn like a mask.

In front, two mice sit close together- humanized figures with mouse faces. One is wrapped in a worn coat, holding the other, who is covered in a blanket.

Beneath them, the words “A Survivor’s Tale” are written. At the bottom, in a red band, it says: *My Father Bleeds History*.
