When Warren county was called, W. W. Edwards arose, and was greeted with loud cheers, principally from the outside of the railing, the same kind of a "boom" that was made at the mention of the name of Hancock at Cincinnati for the people knew Edwards' candidate. Edwards reviewed the history of the party, and stated that he had always been true to its principles. He then placed in nomination the name of Gen. W. F. Fitzgerald.
