An Election Contest.

We understand that W. W. Hence, who was declared defeated at the late county election for the office of magistrate in the Pine Ridge precinct of Adams county, has filed a notice of contest against Mr. S. H. Lambdin, who was declared to be his successful competitor. The case will come up for a hearing on to-morrow (Monday). Mr. Hence was the regular Republican nominee on the compromise ticket, and Mr. Lambdin's friends brought him out as an independent candidate, the latter defeating the former. The grounds of the contestant are that fraud was perpetrated at the precinct, in that a certain number of voters declare that they voted for him on the full State Democratic and county compromise ticket, but that the returns as promulgated do not show this fact; in other words, that ballots that were cast for him were counted for his opponent, Mr. Lambdin. Mr. Wm. C. Martin will act as counsel for Mr. Hence in his contest.
