The Fayette Chronicle says that the negro murderer who escaped from the county jail, was recaptured by Merriman Howard, in Franklin county, last Saturday. The murderer had several days the start of Merriman, but he left too broad a trail. Merriman's zeal in pursuing the negro is commendable, and if he makes as good a magistrate as he does a constable, we will vote for him at the next election.
