A GALLANT PARSON. The Canton Mail has this to say of the Rev. J. Aaron Moore, the burly and oleaginous negro preacher who, recently, like his friend and brother, Henry Ward Beecher, came to grief because of too much familiarity with the lambs of his flock: J. Aaron Moore, while being tried for improper conduct with certain sisters of his church, remarked from the pulpit, "That if a rooster while crossing a barn-yard should find a grain of corn, and would peck and chuckle the hens would come to him, and he didn't intend to be outdone by a rooster."
