JEFF DAVIS COUNTY
The Committee on County Affairs having fully considered all the evidence for and against the creation of Jeff. Davis county, offered two reports on Tuesday, the majority report, favoring the new county, being signed by Messrs. McKnight, Bizzell, Baker, Johnston, Pitts, Conger and Edmonson; the minority report being signed by L. C. Moore.

L. C. Moore presented a minority report stating that he believed the creation of the new county is wholly against the wish of the people of Bolivar county, except in the town and vicinity of Cleveland, and that the people of Sunflower oppose the creation of the new county. He believes that in the near future one or more new counties may be a necessity in the Delta, but when that necessity arises they should be created with reference to sections and not in the interest of a few individuals.
