Jeremy Deller's "Baghdad, 5th March 2007" (2007) starkly presents the wreckage of a car destroyed by a bomb attack in Baghdad. This direct display confronts viewers with the brutal reality of contemporary warfare and its devastating physical consequences. The mangled vehicle serves as a silent testament to the violence and trauma inflicted on ordinary lives. By exhibiting this object outside of a war zone, Deller forces a moment of reflection on the human cost of conflict and the distant realities of war brought into a public space.
