The colored public school was dismissed this morning at 11 o'clock as a mark of respect for M. M. McLeod, whose remains arrived from Aberdeen on the A. & V. passenger at 10 o'clock. McLeod was a great friend of the school and to encourage the hundreds of pupils to do their best, had offered a handsome gold medal for the most proficient scholar. This idea of McLeod's will be carried out by his friend L. A. Atwood, Esq., while S. A. Beadle, Esq., gives a handsome silver medal prize.
