Rebellious Silence - Shirin Neshat
Dublin Core
Description
Neshat sits in front of the camera in a black chador (Islamic veil that leaves only the face exposed), with the barrel of a gun directly splitting her face into two sides; her exposed face, apart from the eye area, is overlayed with Farsi text from a contemporary poem. She stares intensely at the viewer with an unwavering intensity.
