Corps étranger: Mona Hatoum
Dublin Core
Description
Corps étranger (Foreign Body) can be interpreted as exploring themes of vulnerability, the fragility of the physical self, and the feeling of alienation or being a stranger within one's own body. This can be linked to experiences of trauma where one might feel disconnected from their physicality or experience their body as a site of pain and unease. The invasiveness of the endoscopic perspective can also evoke feelings of violation or exposure.
