Ephemeral sculptures

Andy Goldsworthy creates sculptures using natural materials found in the environment where he's working. These materials include leaves, stones, twigs, ice, snow, flowers, and thorns. A key aspect of these works is their ephemerality – they are designed to be temporary, often lasting only a few hours or days before being altered or destroyed by natural forces like wind, rain, melting, or decay. The artist documents these works through photography, which becomes an integral part of the art.
