My Dearest Darling,
Sweet know you think by this time that I am on my way home don’t you darling. Sweet I thought I would have been too. Here I am still doing nothing much just laying around all times. Do have to pull a few detail every once in a while darling. Have been on detail travel since been here. Expect will have two or three more before get out of thus place. I don’t like it a darn bit here darling. Expect will be home now for a week or more yet Sweet hear that it won’t be any more ship to leave here till the 19 of the month. Don’t know if will be able to catch it or not. All can do is just sit here and hope we will darling.
Sweet oh is it hot here now. My cloth is just as wet as wet can be darling.
Gilbert is down here in the same camp as I am in now darling. He has been for about three days now. We just went over to a Red Cross where they have cold beer and hamburger darling. Or better say Gilbert or myself so we desire we would come over to the other red I guess I write a letter darling so here we sit sweet.
I know you think I have forgot you as I don’t write any more this I know. Sweet it not so much of nothing to write about darling. Have got so had rather take a beating than write darling. That’s the only thing have to keep me from writing, it won’t be long before will be back home and won’t have to write. Ah yes darling all most forgot about something sweet. Happen to run upon Horace tonight just before start to leave the other place. Did not get to talk to him but just a few min for he was on his way to the shop + I was coming over here to write you a few lines. He had just got in here darling + he say this corp was the worse place he had ever been in. And he had just got in here. Wait till he leaves this place Darling there is nothing to write about in this place. But I will try + write you a little after than what have you wrote you lately. I know I should have wrote you more but I hate to write so darn bad here lately.
I guess this is enough of this for this time I will close for this time + go+ write Mama my last latter. So from now on when you hear from me you can tell her son all right. Tell Carol hello + kiss yourself + her for me from here. I love you love Luther.
