Caddisfly Larvae Constructions

Dublin Core

Description

This is an ongoing artistic project by Hubert Duprat where he collaborates with caddisfly larvae. These aquatic insect larvae naturally build protective cases around themselves using materials from their environment. Duprat removes the larvae from their natural habitat and provides them with precious and semi-precious materials like gold flakes, pearls, turquoise, and diamonds. The larvae then use these materials to construct their cases, resulting in unique and intricate "sculptures."
