An Introduction to My Art

My art frequently deals with the whimsical, and the following artworks are no exception. I was inspired by the many shows I watch that deal with fantasy concepts and fairies. I knew for my landscape project that I wanted to create a tiny fairy village. My final piece for this project went through many iterations, as seen below.

FairyVillage_Concept1.png

The first concept of my fairy village, which is much smaller, and less deatiled than the final version. It is a forest with a tiny village inside it, done in warm tones of pink and orange.

This concept art is the first concept I did for my landscape project, which is much smaller and less detailed than the final version.

FairyVillage_Concept2.png

The rough concept art of a fairy village, situated in a warm-toned forest of pinks and oranges, with larger trees than the final version.

This is the second of two concept pieces I did for my fairy village landscape. It has larger trees, and less details than the final version.

This is my final landscape, a quaint fairy village situated in the most whimsical of forests. I was inspired by old fairytales and odd architecture, and kept the color palette warm with rich oranges and pinks.

The AI Process

Exploring AI art has been a challenge for me, as well as translating my style through the ai art program Midjourney. I find my style is pretty easy for ai to try and replicate, however it gets it wrong a lot of times. I find that I also dislike most of the results it produces. I personally will not be pursuing the practice of ai generation any further, as I feel that my hands and imagination can still create better art. Shown below is my attempt to put my character, Allison, into the previous landscape.

Allison.png

A portrait of Allison, a caucasian girl with coily blonde-and-blue streaked hair in pigtails. She is wearing an intricate, frilly dress and matching top hat, both in blue. Her eyes are big and blue, and she is smiling, showing her tooth gap.

This is the image I created to put into Midjourney. I have had this character, Allison, since fifth grade. She is the daughter of Alice from my version of Lewis Carrol's Alice in Wonderland.

Allison_AI art.png

An AI-generated image of Allison in the forest of Wonderland. She has lost her blue streaks, and her hat is much larger. Her hair is now less curly, and she is missing her arms.

This is the image Midjourney created based on my forest landscape shown previously, and the previous portrait of Allison. I am not too happy with the figure, but I do enjoy the background of the image.

This is the result of me using AI to help with my art. As you can see, I left the background and focused on making the character look more like herself.
