Visualizing Resistance in the Global South Exhibits (ART 2073)

Students from ART 4073: Visualizing Resistance in the Global South participated in an AI-Midjourney workshop with artist Ardith Goodwin. The course critically examines the art of resistance, protest, and revolution in contemporary visual culture produced in the Global South. Students in the course investigate responses to gun violence, political division, sexism, racism, nationalism, and religious discrimination via artistic intervention(s). For the workshop, students examined how AI-Midjourney can be used/understood as form "resistance" against traditional media while simultaneously learning about the issues/concerns surrounding emerging technology.
