On December 10, 1817 Mississippi became the nation's 20th state. As you view the Symbols of Our State Exhibit, you will learn about the official symbols and the industries that shape Mississippi today. The objects included in the exhibit are specimens housed in the various museums, collections, and galleries on the Mississippi State University campus.
